Another New Year (Silvester) in Vienna and this time I was with Helen Young and Helen's friends another Helen and Andrew. First stop was the Mongolian barbeque on Fleischmarkt which is just a great place to eat loads of healthy and eat some horse if you fancy it. For the record its a little stronger tasting than beef.

On from there to Krah Krah in the Bermuda triangle for some Budweiser and Erdinger. It's been a while since I've seen these photos so not 100% sure on some of them

Eventually we're out and about. Basically there is walk through the streets to the centre at Stephansdom which you try to make by midnight. There are two routes, one from Rathausplatz and the other from the Opera but from each the streets are lined with huts representing bars in the city selling food and drink. After midnight we usually make our way Rotenturnstrasse where this year there was an acappella band singing which was excellent, that's them in the different coloured scarves. At this point is just champagne, glühwein and anything else that Helen had in her backpack or we could buy. Thankfully Vienna is not like London and you can actually buy drink in plentiful supply all night.

These last three photos seem to have been an attempt to capture the lights but to no avail! Ah well will just have to go back next year then :>
